Welcome to St. Matthias Transfiguration School Website

  • Are you looking for a great Kindergarten?

Look no further than St. Matthias. We have openings in our Kindergarten as we have added a second class for the Fall.  Children benefit from a nurturing and caring environment, small class size (no more than 25), a lead teacher and an aide in each room.  Guiding Reading, Spanish, Art, Music, Library, Physical Education and Computer Lab are included in the curriculum.  Children have Religion everyday and attend Mass with a Prayer Partner each Friday. Children benefit from a values-based, individualized education. To learn more, contact Marketing and Admissions Director Deb Bukovy or Principal Sandria Morten at 773/784-0999.
  • Teach Your Children Well

You’ll find outstanding high school preparation for your children at St. Matthias Transfiguration School. We’re a technology leader.  Our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders have individual laptops as well as Promethean interactive white boards in the classroom.  For 2010-2011, we will have interwrite mobi tablets (same functionality as boards) in grades 1-3 as well as automatic response systems (voters).  All students learn Spanish.

We have excellent teachers, small classroom sizes and a values-based, Catholic education.  Our children thrive in a nurturing and diverse environment.

Project Based Learning, an interactive, problem-based teaching method, helps students become critical thinkers.  Guided Reading (grades 1-4)  and Literature Circles (grades 5-8) promote reading with teacher support.

Our graduates go on to the top-rated high schools and colleges.

Registration is underway for grades Pk-3 through 8. Class size is limited to 25 students (20 in Prek with a teacher and aid, a 1:10 ratio).

Tours are available upon request, please call 773/784-0999 and ask for Marketing and Admissions Director Deb Bukovy or Principal Sandria Morten.
