  • How do St. Matthias/Transfiguration students perform on standardized tests?

The TERRA NOVA tests are administered each spring.

Our students consistently perform above average in math, language arts, science and social studies.

  • Does St. Matthias/Transfiguration have computers the students can access?

In addition to the computer curriculum offered for children in PK 4-8, technology is integrated into the course of study for the major subjects. Employment of technology skills in the classroom builds on the skills taught weekly in computer class. Grades 6, 7 and 8 use individual laptop computers to develop skills in teamwork, collaboration, and problem solving. The school has wireless Internet access.

Six Promethean Interactive White Boards are in use throughout the school.

  • How does St. Matthias/Transfiguration promote Catholic values?

We commit ourselves to nurturing a love of God and Christian values toward the world, our fellow human beings, and ourselves.

Curriculum at St. Matthias/Transfiguration is built on a religious foundation. Religion is not merely a subject. Values and the incorporating of religious truths are part of any class when appropriate.

The message of Christ permeates the school day through a dedicated staff, parental involvement, and a curriculum designed to meet the unique needs and learning styles of St. Matthias Transfiguration children.
