Learn About Our Preschool Program

St. Matthias Transfiguration School provides individualized programs to Pre-K three and four year olds. Four center rooms, two for 4-year-old development and two for 3-year-old development provide a variety of innovative projects to make learning fun.
The primary responsibility of the teachers, Miss Iezzoni, Ms. Desmond, Ms. Garber and Mrs. Garcia, is to establish a safe and nurturing environment that encourages discovery through exploration, creativity, individuality and a positive self-image as a child of God.
St. Matthias Transfiguration School is committed to helping children build a strong sense of community, both academic and spiritual. The academic and extra-curricular programs stress the importance of meeting the needs of diverse learners. Although we are a Catholic school, we help our children from all faith backgrounds develop morals, principles and values for life.
In the classroom, our children benefit from developmentally appropriate, individualized, hands-on learning. A balanced literacy program ensures that each child progresses at his/her pace and level. Outside the school, they enjoy new playground facilities appropriate for younger students.
We offer full-day and half-day classes, either three or five days a week. Full-day classes begin at 7:50 am and end at 2:50 pm (2:00 pm on Wednesday). Half-day classes begin at 7:50 am and end at 11:40 am.
Children must be 3 or 4 years old by September 1 of the year they are to enter school. All must be potty trained and self-sufficient (able to manage snaps, buttons and zippers on their own).
