Book Projects
Have your child pick his/her favorite story from the book list and choose one of the following projects to do. Please bring to school in August to share with the class.
- Character or Story Collage -
Character Collage – Draw your favorite characters from the books you have read and glue to a piece of paper. Title the paper My Favorite Characters.
Story Collage – Draw different items from your favorite story – characters, places in the story, objects related to the story, and glue to a piece of paper. Title the paper My Favorite Story.
2. Change the Ending – Choose a story and change the ending. Write the new ending
and draw a picture.
3. Retell a Story
Retell a story using the following question words:
Who is in the story?
What is the story all about?
Where does the story take place?
Why do you like this book?
Draw a picture
4. Storybook Puppet
Pick a character from a story and draw it on a piece of paper (head, arms, hair,
body…) and glue to a brown bag.
