Fundraising
Fundraising is an important component of the operating budget at St.
Matthias Transfiguration School. Each family is required to raise a
minimum of $500 during the year. Families have the option to add this
to the tuition for 10 monthly payments or have the amount
credited throughout the year with the balance being billed in May.
GlobalFest, Bowl-a-thon, Scrip and the Christmas Tree Sale are
the main school fundraisers. Friends of the Grape is a combined Parish
and School fundraiser.
Friends of the Grape, GlobalFest, Bowl-a-thon, SCRIP and the
Christmas Tree and Wreath Sale participation will apply toward the
mandatory fundraising amount. Cash donations are also applicable.
Below is a brief description of each event and the percentage/amount of each which will be applied toward fundraising:
Friends of the Grape - A combined Parish and School event that
celebrates the community through wine and food tastings, a silent
auction, a live auction, and entertainment. Families are asked to
sell raffle tickets and donate items to the auctions. 50% of raffle
tickets sold apply to mandatory fundraising.
GlobalFest - Our students celebrate diverse countries they have
studied throughout the year in this family festival. Classrooms are
decorated to represent a different country. There is food, music, a
raffle and a silent auction. Each family is asked to sell raffle
tickets and help with the event by volunteering, donating items or
taking a sponsorship. 100% of raffle tickets sold and sponsorship goes
toward mandatory fundraising
Bowl-a-thon - Student teams compete for prizes in bowling, an
academic quiz and sponsorship. Each family is asked to contribute a
minimum of $100 in sponsorship. 100% pledges collected.
SCRIP - Participating retailers sell gift certificates to the school
at a discount. Families buy the gift certificates for full face value
and redeem them for full face value. The school receives a percentage
of each purchase. The money raised accrues over the year. Scrip orders
may be placed at www.shopwithscrip.com, enrollment code 4BBA62298743, or by filling out the order form and returning it with payment to the school.
Christmas Tree and Wreath Sale - Live Christmas trees and wreaths
are sold from our school playground for bargain prices. $10 each
purchase may be applied toward mandatory fundraising. Receipt from
purchase must be presented to the office to receive credit.
Cash Donations - 100% Donated
Other school fundraisers benefit PILLARS and the Sports Program.
These include the Pancake Breakfasts, Market Days, Hot Dog Days and
Mustang Madness.
Below are descriptions of these events:
Market Day - Our school's fundraising food co-op. We hold one sale
each month where customers can come to pick up their orders of frozen
meat, seafood and other items distributed through Market Day. You can
order Market Day using the Market Day Monthly Sheets found in the
Church, Rectory or School office. You can also order online at www.marketday.com.
Pancake Breakfasts - Volunteers serve pancake breakfasts on select
Sundays in the gym for a moderate price. Proceeds benefit PILLARS and
help support school events including field trips.
Hot Dog Days - Students may purchase a hot dog lunch one day per
month for a low price. Proceeds benefit PILLARS and help support school
events including field trips.
Mustang Madness - A basketball event where Mustang teams compete
against each other and alumni. There is also a hot shot competition.
Proceeds go to the Sports Program.
